Jonesboro, Ark. - The University of Tulsa women's soccer team put more shots on goal than Arkansas State University Friday afternoon, but the Red Wolves were able to keep the Golden Hurricane off the scoresheet in a 1-0 win at ASU Soccer Complex.

"We just came out flat tonight," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "It is always difficult to play on the road, but they took it to us early. Once we settled in, we played well at times, but we just couldn't get the equalizing goal. We had five great break-a-way chances, but we just couldn't get a shot off."

Tulsa (5-2) attempted six shots on goal to just four by Arkansas State (4-1-1), and both teams had two corner kicks. ASU outshot TU overall, 14-11.

Kelsey Killion led the Golden Hurricane with three shots, and Claire Nicholson and Jordan O'Brien each had two.

ASU's Michele Clark scored the lone goal of the match in the 17th minute with assists going to Jill Fuerman and Miranda Wiley.

TU goalkeeper Katie Bykowski moved to 5-2 this season after playing all 90 minutes in net and taking the loss. She recorded three saves and allowed one goal. Arkansas State's Megan Stoltzfus saved all six shot attempts and earned the win.

The Golden Hurricane will stay on the road for a Sept. 12 matchup against Central Arkansas. The game will be played in Conway, Ark., and is set for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
