Men's Golf Finish Ninth at Royal Oaks Intercollegiate

DALLAS - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in a tie for ninth place with a three-round total of 863 at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at the par-71 7,068-yard Royal Oaks Country Club.
The Golden Hurricane posted a team-total 295 Tuesday to close out the tournament. Junior Mark Mumford tied for 26th with a 2-over par three-round total of 215 after shooting 74 Tuesday.
Senior Stephen Carney tied for 30th with a tournament-total 216 after shooting a 72 in the third round. Junior Chris Worrell carded a 73 in the third round to total 217 for the tournament, while senior Andre' Tourinho totaled 222 after posting an 81 Tuesday. Sophomore John Young Kim carded a 76 in the third round to total 224 for the tournament.
Texas A&M won the team title, posting a three-round 830, including a 279 on Tuesday. MJ Daffue of Lamar, playing as an individual, took home individual medalist honors with a three-round 202, including a 67 in the final round.
This tournament concludes the fall schedule for the Golden Hurricane, which returns to action Feb. 13-14 at the UTSA Invitational in San Antonio.
