San Diego, Calif. - The Tulsa men's golf team is one of 13 teams competing at NCAA Division I Men's Golf San Diego Region, May 19-21, at The Farms Golf Club. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship finals.

The private facility is located in the ruggedly beautiful terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, one of San Diego's most prestigious north coastal communities. The course is a par-72 and plays 6,947 yards.

Tulsa is making its 21st regional appearance and third straight. The Hurricane is coming off of a third place performance at the Conference USA Championships. Tulsa is one of five C-USA schools receiving invitations to the NCAA regionals, including league champion UCF, East Carolina, Memphis and SMU.

Tulsa is led by second-team all-conference selection Chris Worrell (Enid, Okla.) and junior Stephen Carney (Tulsa, Okla./Union HS). Worrell has a team-best 73.4-stroke average in 36 rounds, while Carney has averaged 73.8 strokes in 30 rounds. A pair of freshman, John Young Kim and Johannes Veerman, finished fourth and fifth, respectively, at the Conference USA Championships. Veerman earned C-USA all-freshman team accolades with a 74.1 stroke average. Junior Arie Fauzi has also had some bright moments for the Hurricane this year, including two top-10 finishes.

A total of 81 teams and 45 individuals earned a berth to the NCAA Regionals. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five golfers competing as individuals.

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. The NCAA Championship will be held May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla.
