Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team went through a 120 minute practice session on the turf of H.A. Chapman Stadium on Saturday morning, just one week away for the season opener against the No.1 Oklahoma Sooners.
"Today was our Thursday style of practice. We really emphasized a lot of special teams and a lot of different situations we may face. We'll come back Sunday and go through a mock game to work all of our substitutions. I feel like it's all coming together. I really like the focus that we've had from our players," said Blankenship.
The Hurricane will go through a mock game Sunday night, and like in past years take Monday off before returning to the practice field on Tuesday. "We'll get on a regular routine of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for next week. Everything is all about implementing our game plan and scouting reports for Oklahoma," added Blankenship.
"I'm really impressed with our guys. They're very resilient and focused. With a lot of distractions going on, I felt that there was a good spirit and good focus today," said Blankenship.
The first weekly Bill Blankenship Radio Call-in Show will air this Monday night, August 29th, live from TeKei's Restaurant at 1616 South Utica beginning at 7 pm.
