Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne (Football) has earned his bachelor's degree in exercise sport science with a 3.27 grade-point average. He is currently working toward a second bachelor's degree in organizational studies. The Mesquite, Texas, native completed 21 of 29 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tulsa to a 31-3 victory over Tulane this past weekend. He also rushed for 18 yards, which included a 23-yard scamper.

FOOTBALL (1-1, 1-0 C-USA)
Won at Tulane 31-3
(The Golden Hurricane exploded for 31 points to pick up a road victory in the first Conference USA matchup of the season. Tulane opened the game with a field goal midway through the opening quarter, but senior placekicker Kevin Fitzpatrick answered five minutes later and Tulsa ended the game with 31 unanswered points. Junior wide receiver Bryan Burnham caught seven passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Senior tight end Clay Sears also picked up a receiving TD, and junior running back Alex Singleton added another on a two-yard rush. He led the Golden Hurricane with 61 yards rushing. Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne was 21-for-29 passing for 241 yards and three touchdowns.)

MEN'S GOLF
Placed second at the Northern Intercollegiate
(The Golden Hurricane placed second overall at the Northern Intercollegiate, which was held on the par-71, 6,954-yard Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course. Tulsa shot a team total of 880 and fell 10 shots behind champion UCF. Sophomore John Young Kim paced TU with his fifth-place finish. He shot a three-round total of 214 (+1) after firing a three-under par 68 in the opening round. Junior Chris Worrell also landed in the top 10 with a score of 218 (+5), and freshman Matt Mabrey tied for 15th at 222 (+9). Senior Stephen Carney finished in a tie for 22nd (+13) and senior Arie Fauzi was tied for 44th (+17).)

MEN'S SOCCER (3-2, 0-0 C-USA) Ranked No. 28 in the nation
Lost to No. 3 UConn 1-0
(The Golden Hurricane went toe-to-toe with the No. 3-ranked team in the nation, and even outshot the Huskies 7-6. The team was unable to turn the shot advantage into goals, however, and UConn escaped with the narrow 1-0 victory. Three of TU's seven shots came from the boot of freshman midfielder Tony Rocha, and sophomore goalkeeper Michael Murray saved one shot and allowed one goal.)

Defeated Oakland 2-1 (TU dropped the Golden Grizzlies to end the weekend on a high note. Tulsa gave up a goal at the 12:06 mark, but senior midfielder Corey Albertson equalized just 43 seconds later. Senior defender Blaine Gonsalves scored the game-winning goal in the 46th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Omar Mata. Junior defender Matt Boullt assisted on Albertson's game-tying goal. Murray saved two shots and allowed just one goal to pick up the victory. TU outshot Oakland 14-6, and the Golden Hurricane led in corner kicks, 8-7.)

WOMEN'S SOCCER (4-2-1, 0-0 C-USA)
Tied at Missouri State 0-0 (2ot)
(Tulsa drew with Missouri State 0-0 despite outshooting the Bears 29-17. The two teams combined to put 20 shots on goal (with TU holding a 16-4 edge), but neither side could find the back of the net. Junior defender Claire Hulcer, junior forward Stephanie Aitken and sophomore midfielder Bradi Hinch led Tulsa with four shots each, and junior goalkeeper Katie Bykowski saved all four shots faced in a shutout effort.)

Won at Northwestern State 2-0 (Sophomore forward Shelby Martin knotted the game-winning goal in the 45th minute, and Bykowski earned another shutout after saving both shots on goal. Sophomore forward Lindsay Kirch assisted on Martin's goal, and Aitken added an insurance marker in the 54th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Jordan O'Brien. TU outshot NSU 19-3.)

VOLLEYBALL (6-4, 0-0 C-USA)
Defeated Cal Poly 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-22)
(The Golden Hurricane opened the Middle Tennessee Invitational with a solid four-set victory over Cal Poly. Tulsa received a double-double of 14 digs and 12 kills from sophomore outside hitter Kellie Culbertson. Junior outside hitter Diana Silva added 13 digs and 12 kills. The Clampitt sisters (junior Jordan and freshman Bailey) combined for 48 assists, and junior libero Jessica Adams recorded 21 digs. Junior outside hitter Tyler Henderson recorded 14 kills and hit .303 for the match.)

Won at Middle Tennessee State 3-2 (16-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21, 15-9) (Tulsa came back from a 2-1 deficit to take down the host school. Henderson led the way with 25 kills and a .435 hitting percentage. Culbertson recorded another double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Adams had 14 digs and the Clampitt sisters combined for 52 assists.)

Lost to No. 4 Illinois 3-2 (20-25, 20-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-11) (The Golden Hurricane jumped ahead two sets to none, but the highly-ranked Fighting Illini took the last three games and avoided the upset minded Tulsa squad. Henderson exploded for 33 kills, and the Clampitt sisters combined for 63 assists. Culbertson had her third-straight double-double with 14 digs and 12 kills. Jordan Clampitt also had a double-double with 42 assists and 13 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Miriele Gobbo and freshman middle blocker Carly Boatwright each had 10 kills, and Adams recorded 11 digs.)
