• Kickoff was Sunday at 12:16 a.m., due to a 3:13 minute weather delay. The game was originally slated for 9:10 p.m., but was delayed at 9:03 p.m.
• Tulsa faced its second nationally ranked opponents in three games. Oklahoma State entered the game ranked #7 (USA Today) and #8 (AP). Tulsa played consensus #1 Oklahoma in the season opener.
• Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne and junior defensive end Cory Dorris each made their 28th consecutive starts.
• Kevin Fitzpatrick's 25-yard field goal at the 8:07 mark in the first quarter marks the first time in three games this season that Tulsa was the first team to score. It also marks the first time this season Tulsa scored on its opening drive.
• Justin Gilbert's 96-yard kickoff return at the 7:52 mark of the first quarter is the first time Tulsa has allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown since last season when Francisco Llanos returned an 87-yard kickoff for Southern Miss (11/26/10). It was also the longest given up by Tulsa since Kris Briggs of SMU ran back a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown (11/23/02).
• Senior linebacker Alan Dock registered his first career interception late with less than a minute remaining in the second half.
• Sophomore Ja'Tarian Douglas' 80-yard touchdown run at the 9:27 mark in the third quarter was both the longest run from scrimmage and the longest run for a touchdown by a Tulsa player since Eric Richardson's 80-yard rushing touchdown against Louisiana Tech (11/15/03).
• Redshirt freshman Kalen Henderson connected with junior receiver Bryan Burnham for a 43-yard touchdown at the 9:19 mark of the third quarter. It was Henderson's first career touchdown pass.
• Bryan Burnham has caught at least one touchdown pass in each of three games this season. He has also caught at least two touchdown passes in each of the last two games. He now has five total touchdowns on the season.
• Sophomore running back Trey Watts set a career high for single-game all-purpose yards with 202 (159 rushing/43 kickoff return).
• Trey Watts set a career high for single-game rushing with 159 yards on 23 carries. His previous high was 52 yards on 17 carries against Bowling Green (9/11/10).
• Ja'Terian Douglas set a career high for single-game rushing with 173 yards on 12 carries. His previous high was 64 yards on five carries against Tulane (October 16, 2010).
• Prior to the rushing totals by Watts and Douglas, the last time a Tulsa player rushed for 100 or more yards in a game was G.J. Kinne who gained 190 yards against Houston (11/13/10).
• Prior to the rushing totals by Watts and Douglas, the last time a Tulsa running back rushed for 100 or more yards in a game was Tarrion Adams who gained 207 yards in the GMAC Bowl against Ball State (1/6/09).
• The last time two Tulsa players rushed for 100 or more yards in the same game was Tarrion Adams (116) and Courtney Tennial (109) against Rice (11/11/06).
• Tulsa's 365 rushing yards is the most by a Tulsa team since the Hurricane tallied 439 yards rushing in the GMAC Bowl against Ball State (1/6/09).
• Tulsa's defense held All-America receiver Justin Blackmon to 57 yards on seven catches, which broke his NCAA record streak of 14 games with 100 or more yards receiving. It was Blackmon's lowest number of receiving yards since catching four passes for just 45 yards against Ole Miss (1/2/10).
• With the loss, Tulsa falls to 15-56 against ranked opponents including 7-14 at home.
• Tulsa's loss to Oklahoma State marks its first loss in a home opener since dropping a 41-10 decision against Minnesota (9/1/05).
