FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Four members of the Conference USA champion Tulsa men's track and field team competed at the Arkansas Last Chance Qualifier meet tonight at the Randal Tyson Track Complex.
All four of the runners posted personal bests, highlighted by junior Andrew Heyes and his first-place time of 4:01.98. The mark was the 43rd-fastest time posted in the nation this year.
Senior Paulo Pinheiro finished runner-up in 4:02.89, and his mark was 53rd in the country this season. Junior Sam Masters was third in 4:05.69, and senior Carl Stones finished fifth in 4:07.04.
All but one member of the Golden Hurricane will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which will begin March 17 with the Tulsa Duels.
Junior All-American Chris O'Hare will compete next weekend - March 9-10 - in the NCAA Championships in Boise, Idaho.
O'Hare finished runner-up in the national championship race of the mile a year ago.
