IRVING, Texas - The University of Tulsa senior golfer Logan McCracken was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.
Earlier this week, McCracken captured individual medalist honors at the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate and led the Golden Hurricane to a second-place team finish.
McCracken, a senior from Oklahoma City, Okla. (Putnam City North HS), carded opening day rounds of 72 and 71 and entered the final day of competition in a three-way tie for second place and one stroke off the lead. He turned in a final round score of four-under par 68 and finished the 54-hole event with a five-under par 211, a five-stroke victory over the second-place competitor, Scott Wolfes of Georgia Southern.
The individual victory was McCracken's first career win after transferring to Tulsa from Texas Tech. It also marked the first Golf Athlete of the Week honor for the Golden Hurricane during the fall season.
Tulsa has concluded the fall campaign and will start the spring tournament schedule, February 9-10, at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
