Tulsa Track and Field Finds Success At Sooner Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. -
In its final tuneup before the Conference USA Track and Field Championship next weekend, a handful of members of the Tulsa track and field squad competed at the Sooner Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Facility.
Freshman John Teeters claimed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.77, which ranks second in program history only behind teammate Bryce Robinson.
Fellow freshman Jake McDonnell won the mile clocking in at 4:18.16.
On the women's side, Melanie Hughes captured the mile crown with a time of 4:53.36, while Lauren Collette earned a second-place showing in the 800-meter run in 2:15.75.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action in on February 23-24 when it will compete at the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championship in Birmingham, Ala.
