Birmingham, Ala. - The Tulsa men's golf team sits in 12th place at the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Invitational after two rounds on Monday at the Shoal Creek Country Club. The Hurricane carded rounds of 303 and 292 for a 36-hole total of 595.
Tulsa's Matt Mabrey and Logan McCracken turned in totals of 145 after two rounds. Mabrey shot rounds of 72 and 73, while McCracken turned in a 74 and one-under par 71 on Monday.
Freshman Matthew Marquez had an opening round of 80 and shot eight strokes better in second round action with a score of even-par 72 for a 152 total and 52nd place.
Colton Staggs is in 56th place with a 154 total, while Mark Mumford's opening day score of 156 ties for 62nd place.
Host UAB leads the field with a score of 556, while Mississippi (558), Memphis (566), Liberty (568) and Florida (571) rounding out the top-five teams.
Individually, Mississippi's Blake Morris has a one stroke lead with a nine-under par score of 135 after rounds of 68 and 67.
Tulsa will tee-off at 8:15 am on Tuesday.
