TULSA POSTGAME NOTES AT COLORADO STATE

Recap | Final Stats • Tulsa wore all white uniforms - white helmets, white jerseys and white pants - for the first time this season.
• Tulsa team captains were senior offensive lineman Garrett Stafford, senior linebacker Mitchell Osborne, sophomore linebacker Trent Martin and junior defensive end Derrick Alexander.
• Senior defensive back DeMarco Nelson made his 44th start in 45 career games played.
• True freshman wide receiver Nigel Carter made his first career start.
• Tulsa did not score in the first quarter for the fifth consecutive game this season.
• Tulsa forced and recovered a fumble at the 8:50 mark of the second quarter. It was the first turnover forced by the Tulsa defense since the final play of the season opener against Tulane (Aug. 28).
• The second quarter fumble was forced by junior linebacker Zik Asiegbu and recovered by senior safety DeMarco Nelson. It was the first career forced fumble for Asiegbu. It was the first fumble recovery of the season for Nelson, and the fourth of his career.
• Junior wide receiver Derek Patterson saw his first game action since he was injured Sept. 6 against Oklahoma.
• Patterson hauled in a 65-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Dane Evans in the second quarter. It was a career-long reception for Patterson, surpassing his previous long of 27 yards set against Bowling Green on Aug. 29, 2013.
• Redshirt freshman cornerback Kerwin Thomas recorded his first career interception at the 11:20 mark of the third quarter.
• Sophomore wide receiver Keevan Lucas hauled in a 62-yard touchdown pass from Evans at the 12:50 mark of the fourth quarter. It was Tulsa's second-longest play of the season, second to an 84-yard TD pass from Evans to Lucas in the season opener vs. Tulane.
• Lucas caught seven passes for 101 yards. It was the second 100-yard receiving game of his career. He totaled 233 receiving yards in the season opener against Tulane.
