TULSA'S STAFFORD EARNS ACADEMIC HONORS

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa offensive lineman Garrett Stafford has been named to the Capital One Academic First-Team All-District 7 Football Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Stafford is now eligible for Academic All-America honors.
Stafford, a junior from Tulsa's Memorial High School, maintained a 3.70 grade point average in Electrical Engineering, while earning his bachelor's degree in 3.5 years last year. He is currently enrolled in graduate school and is working on his master's degree in Electrical Engineering as well.
The 6'5", 314-pound left tackle, is the anchor of the Tulsa offensive line and has graded out over 90-percent in six games this year. Stafford has played in 29 career games and has a current streak of 23 consecutive starting assignments.
Stafford now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. District 7 includes the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
