Tulsa Hosts Cincinnati in American Championship Quarterfinals on Saturday

The Tulsa men's soccer team will host Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference Championship quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU earned the right to host by finishing second in The American regular season, while Cincinnati finished seventh overall.

Fans are encouraged to tailgate on Chapman Commons beginning at 5:00 pm. The Juniper Jump and a large tailgate tent will be open until 7:00 pm, and shuttles will run to the soccer stadium beginning at 6:30 pm. Shuttles will also be available after the game to return fans to Chapman Commons.

Tickets for the Tulsa-Cincinnati game can be purchased at the north and east ticket gates for $5. TU students that show their ID and fans that show their ticket stub from the Tulsa-SMU football game will be given free admittance.

The Golden Hurricane concluded the regular season with a 9-5-2 mark and a 5-2-1 record in the league. TU has a 5-1-2 mark in the friendly confines of the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium this season for a 75.0 winning percentage. Since the stadium was built in 2003, TU has amassed 69 wins at home for a 66.8 winning percentage.

Ray Saari has a team-best six goals and 14 points, while Akeil Barrett is right behind him with five goals and 12 points. Austin Neil, who has tallied three goals and five assists on the year, has 11 points. Jake McGuire has logged all 1159:07 in goal, picked up 52 saves and earned three shutouts, while Brandon Hanat has 360 minutes between the posts for 13 saves and one clean sheet.

Cincinnati concluded the regular season with a 5-9-3 overall record and a 2-5-1 mark in The American. The Bearcats are led by John Manga who has 10 goals and 22 points, while Ashani Walker has tallied four goals and a team-leading four assists for 12 points. Alex Gill has played the majority of minutes for 72 saves, four shutouts, a 1.64 GAA and a .72 saves percentage.

UConn won the 2014 American Athletic Conference regular season championship to take the top seed in the conference tournament. Tulsa was second, followed by #3 SMU, #4 USF, #5 Memphis, #6 UCF, #7 Cincinnati and #8 Temple.

The quarterfinals are hosted on the top four seeds' home sites, while the semifinals and finals will be hosted by UConn at the Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn. The semifinals will be streamed live on the American Digital Network, while the Championship can be viewed live on ESPN3.
