SEVEN BOWL TEAMS HIGHLIGHT TULSA'S 2015 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

Tulsa, Oklahoma - In conjunction with the American Athletic Conference's release of the league schedule for the next four seasons, The University of Tulsa's 2015 football schedule is now complete. The Golden Hurricane schedule features seven 2014 bowl participants, including six American Athletic Conference schools.
"We're excited about the overall schedule," said newly appointed Head Coach Philip Montgomery. "From a league standpoint, it will be exciting for us and our fans to play a home schedule that includes four teams that are bowl participants this season. The road schedule with Oklahoma in non-conference action and two of the top teams in the American Athletic Conference from this past season, Cincinnati and East Carolina, will be a tall task.
In non-conference action, Tulsa will host Florida Atlantic of Conference USA on September 5. The teams will be playing the second leg of a two-game home-and-home series that began this past season in Boca Raton, Florida.
Tulsa and the New Mexico Lobos renew a series with a Sept. 12th game in Albuquerque. The two teams last met in the 2009 season as Tulsa captured a 44-10 road win and improved its' series record over the Lobos to 4-2.
The Hurricane will travel down the Turner Turnpike to take on the Oklahoma Sooners a week later on Sept. 19th. OU will play Clemson in the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl. Tulsa's final non-conference match-up will be a home game against Louisiana-Monroe on Oct. 10th. ULM and Tulsa will be meeting for the third time in school history, as the Hurricane leads the series 2-1.
American Athletic Conference home games for Tulsa in 2015 is comprised of all four of those opponents playing in a 2014 bowl game. UCF (Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl), Houston (Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl), Memphis (Miami Beach Bowl) and league newcomer Navy (San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl) will visit Chapman Stadium in the fall.
Tulsa will be looking to avenge road losses against UCF, Houston and Memphis from this past season. Tulsa has a 5-3 series advantage against the Knights, and trail a tightly contested series against Houston 21-19, while Memphis has a 15-10 series edge.
Road games in league play for the Hurricane include Cincinnati, East Carolina, SMU and Tulane. Cincinnati and East Carolina will also play in a bowl game this season with Cinci facing Virginia Tech in the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman and East Carolina playing Florida in the Birmingham Bowl.
Tulsa and Cincinnati, former co-members of the Missouri Valley Conference, met for the first time in 1946, and last met in the 1997 season. The Hurricane holds a 16-13-2 series advantage against the Bearcats. East Carolina won this past year's meeting and now has a 7-5 edge in the series, while Tulsa's win against SMU in 2014 was Tulsa's eighth victory in the series against 13 defeats. The Hurricane leads the series against Tulane by a 9-2 record.
