TU Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS - The University of Tulsa's men's and women's track and field teams, as well as student-athletes Elijah Silva, Julian Frazier, Danny Thater and Katherine Camp received All-Academic awards as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The men's team, one of 116 programs in the country to receive the award, earned a combined 3.23 GPA, top-30 amongst the rest of the country. The women's squad finished with a 3.40 overall GPA and were one of 208 other Division I programs in the country to earn the team award.
Silva, a freshman from Toronto, Canada, majoring in exercise science, ended the school year with a 3.97 GPA. Frazier a senior from Tulsa, finished with a 3.68 GPA, while majoring in psychology. Thater, an English major, from Springfield, Mo., completed his junior season with a 3.39 GPA. Camp, hailing from Hamilton, New Zealand, compiled a 3.50 GPA as an exercise and sports science major.
In order to receive the award, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top-96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-48 in a relay event, or; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.
