TULSA'S SUITS NAMED FWAA FRESHMAN ALL-AMERICAN

Linebacker Craig Suits was named to the FWAA Freshman All-America Team.Jan. 14, 2015

Dallas, Texas - Red-shirt freshman linebacker Craig Suits was named to the Football Writers' Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-America Team, it was announced today.

Suits (6'0", 220) collected 81 tackles to finish second on the team, including 45 solos and 7.5 stops for lost yardage, while starting all 12 games for the Golden Hurricane. He was also credited with four pass break-ups, two forced fumbles and one interception in 2014. Suits had a season-best 10 tackles against both FAU and Houston, while his interception came against Temple.

From Sunnyvale, Texas, Suits played his prep football at Mesquite Poteet High School. He enrolled at Tulsa in January 2013 as a gray-shirt, while recovering from a shoulder injury. Suits red-shirted in 2013 after suffering an ACL injury.

Suits became the fourth Tulsa player to earn FWAA Freshman All-America accolades since the FWAA instituted the award 14 years ago. Other Tulsa freshmen to earn the honor have included linebacker Nick Bunting (2003), receiver and KOR specialist Damaris Johnson (2008) and safety DeMarco Nelson (2010).
