Track and Field With Strong Outing at Arkansas Invitational

Arkansas Invitational Results 
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Tulsa's men's and women's track and field team wrapped up its opening meet of the season at the Arkansas Invitational, as the Hurricane placed eleven athletes in the top three, including three first place finishes, Friday afternoon.
Junior sprinter Bryce Robinson kicked off the meet after finishing with the fastest time in the 60-meter dash, with a mark of 6.64, which is good for the fastest time in the nation this year and the second fastest time in program history.
In the preliminary round, Robinson won his heat with a time of 6.66, now the third fastest time in program history.
The Golden Hurricane most dominant event on the men's side came in the mile run, after they swept the podium. Adam Palamar (4:06.32), Tim Rackers (4:13.83), and Jake McDonnell (4:15.28) earned the top spots in the event. Palamar's time is the fastest time in the NCAA this season. Ellis Coon finished in fifth, after coming in with a time of 4:16.53.
Simon Greiner picked up a first-place finish in the 1000-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:26.55, over two seconds faster than any other runner in the four-person event.
The Hurricane had a strong showing in the 600-meter run, as Isaac Sanders (1:22.51) and David Anderson (1:23.43), took second and third in the event, respectively.
In the field events, Alex Lybarger broke a school record in a second-place finish with a toss of 17.50 meters in the Weight Throw finals.
Lybarger began his day with Shot Put finals, where he came in fourth with a throw of 15.53 meters.
On the women's side, Olivia Lopez had the highest finish for TU, when she finished second in the mile run with a time of 4:55.91. Teammate Natasha Cockram finished right behind Lopez, coming in at 4:57.16, good for third in the event.
Olivia O'Hare in the other Hurricane to place after a third-place finish in the 1000-meter run, posting a school-record time of 2:47.66.
The Hurricane will now travel to Manhattan, Kan. for a two-day event at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational on Jan. 23 and 24.
