"It's always good to get a conference win on the road, and especially against a good team that was tied with us in league play," Head Coach Ryan Wills said. "Our play was up and down at times, but in the end we were able to a way to win. I am pleased with the way Reeve came out in the first set, because her offensive play provided some great momentum for the match. Bohannon did a great job with her play in the beginning of the fourth set, which was big for us to keep that momentum going."

In the initial frame, Tulsa hit an imposing .312 percent on 17 kills, while USF hit .292 with 18 kills. The teams battled close through the beginning of the set with tying score at 12-12, and 14-14 before the Hurricane went on a four-point run to take a 20-16 lead. USF would get as close as 24-22, but Tulsa won the set, 25-22.

The second stanza was the most convincing as Tulsa hit an explosive .361 and tallied 14 kills limiting the Bulls to a .088 hitting percentage and six kills. Tulsa took an early 6-9 lead and extended the lead to 16-10, and that's when the Hurricane scored five straight points to make the score 21-11. TU allowed USF to score two more points, but a Bulls service error ended the set 25-13 as TU took a 2-0 match advantage going into intermission.

In the third set, Temple hit .294 on 12 kills while limiting the Hurricane to .150 hitting percentage on 13 kills. Bohannon led TU in kills in the frame registering five kills. Both teams battled closely throughout the set with ten tying scores and six lead changes. TU trailed by two point late in the set with the score at 24-22 before a USF kill from the outside ended the set 25-22 making the match score 2-1.

In the final frame, Tulsa led the majority of the set before USF tied the score at 21-21. The Bulls took a two point led late with the score at 24-22, before the Hurricane fought back to tie the score at 24-24.
