Track and Field Has Strong Outing at Arkansas Open

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Tulsa track and field team's wrapped up the Arkansas Open, at the Randal Tyson Track Complex, as the women's 4x400 meter relay team ran the fastest time in the American Athletic Conference this year, to highlight TU's afternoon.
Candalyn Lyons, Audrey Jean-Baptiste, Cydney Fogle and Lauren Thomas ran the 4x4 in 3:43.40, for the third fastest time of the day.
The men's 4x4 relay team also had a strong showing, as Isaac Sanders, Bryce Robinson, Otugo Ananaba and Grey Howard came in with a time of 3:14.78. The time is the second fastest recorded in the conference this year and the fourth fastest of the afternoon.
Colt Johnson had a strong showing in his first 400-meter dash of the year, finishing in 49.60, which is the 14th quickest time in The American.
Alex Lybarger had a career day at the Open, breaking a school record in the weigh throw, with a mark 18.56, the top throw of the day and the third best in The American this year. Lybarger also took part in the shot put, where he finished third, with a throw of 15.31 meters.
Otugo Ananaba had the top 60-meter dash time, 6.88, while Audrey Jean-Baptiste finished second in the 400-meter dash finals with a time of 53.59.
