Tulsa’s Garrett Stafford Named to the Lombardi Award Watch List

University of Tulsa offensive guard Garrett Stafford was named to the preseason watch list for the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award, released today by the Rotary Lombardi Committee. Stafford was also recently named to the Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List.
 
Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage.
 
Stafford, a 6'5", 300-pound senior from Tulsa's Memorial High School, has started played in 32 career games and has started 26 consecutive contests, including the last 24 at left tackle. Stafford moved to left guard during spring drills. In 2014, Stafford graded over 80-percent in all 12 games and finished the year with grades over 90-percent in the final six contests.
 
The 46th Rotary Lombardi Award will be held on December 9, 2015 at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas. Proceeds from the Rotary Lombardi Awards stay in the Houston community and benefit the American Cancer Society, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centers / Children's Cancer Hospital, and Texas Children's Cancer Center.
