TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa indoor track and field junior Marc Scott was named the American Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
This is Scott's third career weekly conference accolade and his first this season. Last weekend at the Iowa State Classic, Scott finished second in men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 13:37.34, which ranks third in the NCAA this season. The 13:37.34 time Scott ran in the 5,00-meter dash is the fastest time in school history, and he now holds three of the top-five times in that event.
The Golden Hurricane will be back in action this Friday, Feb. 19, as it travels to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Arkansas Qualifier, which is the last indoor meet before the American Indoor Championships. The American Indoor Championships are scheduled to take place on Feb. 28-29, in Birmingham, Ala.
