Tulsa Men Golfers in 14th Place After Two Rounds at The Hayt

Tulsa red-shirt freshman Sam Humphreys is in 15th place after 36 holes at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational. Humphreys carded a one-over par round of 73 on Saturday for a 148 total to lead the Tulsa men's golf team. The youthful Hurricane team is in 14th place with a 615 total after shooting 15 strokes better today than in Friday's first round.
Tulsa shot a second round score of 300 at the par-72 Sawgrass Country Club course Saturday.
A pair of freshmen is next for the Hurricane as Marc Kepka is in 46th place after today's round of 75 puts him at 154 for two rounds. Preston Crawford equaled Humphreys best round of 73 to move up from Friday's 84th place to 64th place on Saturday. Crawford has a 157 total after 36 holes.
Freshman Jack Knoesel and sophomore Francisco Yanez sit in 79th and 82nd place, respectively. Knoesel carded a round of 83 today for a 161 total, while Yanez has a total score of 162 following today's round of 79.
Oklahoma State overtook North Florida for the team lead as the Cowboys have a score of five-over par 581, four strokes better than second-place North Florida. Oklahoma State's Brendon Jelley leads the individual race with a six-under par score of 138.
Final round action takes place on Sunday.
