Tulsa Men Golfers Finish 12th at the John Hayt Collegiate

Ponte Verde Beach, Fla. –– The Tulsa men's golf team finished in 12th place Sunday at the John Hayt Collegiate. The Golden Hurricane carded a final round 293 and jumped from 14th to 12th place with a 54-hole score of 908 at the par-72 Sawgrass Country Club course.
All freshmen were the top-4 finishers for the Hurricane as red-shirt freshman Sam Humphreys was Tulsa's top performer. Humphreys shot a final round 74 and finished the 54 holes with a score of 222.
Marc Kepka finished in 40th place after today's round of 73 put him at 227 for the three rounds. Jack Knoesel not only turned Tulsa's best round of the day, but for the entire 54-hole tournament with a two-under par 70. He finished with a total score of 231 for 59th place. Preston Crawford finished with a score of 233 after today's round of 76 and placed 67th overall.
Sophomore Francisco Yanez placed 85th overall with a score of 241.
Oklahoma State won the team title with a score of 858, while the Cowboys' Brendon Jelley won individual medalist honors with a nine-under par score of 207.
Tulsa will be in action next at the Auburn Tiger Invitational, March 6-8, in Opelika, Alabama.
