No. 23 Tulsa Men’s Tennis Earns No. 2 Seed in American Athletic Conference Championship Bracket

TULSA, Okla. – After finishing the regular season last weekend, The University of Tulsa men's tennis team (15-12 overall) now know who their opponent is for the American Athletic Conference Championships. The Golden Hurricane received the No. 2 seed in the nine-team bracket and will square off against No. 7 seed Temple (20-5 overall) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT at the Dunavant-Wellford Tennis Center on the campus of Memphis University School in Memphis, Tenn.
 
The Hurricane moved up one spot to earn a No. 23 national team ranking, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday. Tulsa is ranked among the top-25 nationally for the ninth time this season, and it is one of five American Athletic Teams that are ranked in the top-50 nationally, including: USF (17), Tulsa (23), SMU (27), Tulane (31) and Memphis (42).
 
Junior Or Ram-Harel enters the conference tournament nationally ranked No. 46 in singles play, after previously being ranked No. 53. This is Ram-Harel's sixth time to be ranked among the top-50 nationally in singles play this season. Seniors Matthew Kirby and Dylan McCloskey go into the tournament ranked No. 83 in singles play.
 
The battle-tested Hurricane has posted a 9-9 record against nationally ranked opponents this season. Out of the 27 scheduled regular season matches this season 18 of them were against nationally ranked opponents.
 
Tulsa and Temple did not play this season.
 
The men's semifinals will be played on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT, with the championship match beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET/10:00 a.m. CT on Sunday.
