
Tulsa Completes First Day at Iowa’s Black & Gold Premier

The Tulsa women's and men's distance medley teams claimed first-place late Friday at the Black and Gold Premier hosted by the University of Iowa at the Iowa Recreations Center.
The women's distance medley team, comprised of Stacie Taylor, Allison Bailey, Sabrina Monsees and Adrena Mazzei, ran away with the victory by posting more than a 30-second advantage over second-place Loyola (Ill.). The Hurricane women finished with a time of 11:55.45.
The men's team of Marc Scott, Hans Kunsch, Robert Tully and Ben Preisner clocked a medley relay time of 9:56.46 to nose out the Wisconsin Team. Tulsa's 'B' team of Adam Breaux, David Anderson, Mark Middleton and Archer Bennett came in fourth place in a time of 10:13.50
The Hurricane women had a second-place finish by Emily Waggener in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:40.09. Tulsa also had fourth-place performances by Aaliyah Birmingham in the 200 meter premier with a time of 24.90 and Quin Patterson's 25.98 time in 200 meters.
The Tulsa men had third and fourth-place finishes by Isaac Dobos and Jeremiah Ort in the 3000-meter run. Dobbs clocked a time of 8:30.14, while Ort finished at 8:30.68.
Tulsa will be back in action Saturday afternoon with the first event for the Hurricane coming at 2:40 p.m. in the Mile run.
