Tulsa’s Scott and Rapp to Compete in NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

The University of Tulsa Track and Field's Marc Scott and Aleks Rapp will represent the Golden Hurricane at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 10-11 at Gilliam Indoor Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M University.
Scott (North Yorkshire, England) qualified with the third-fastest times nationally for both the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run. The senior holds the Tulsa school record in both events having set his NCAA qualifying time in the 5,000-meter run at the Hoosier Open on Dec. 9 with a meet and facility record time of 13:38.87 before recording his best time of 7:47.57 in the 3,000-meter run at the Iowa State Classic. Scott will run in the 5,000-meters on Friday at 8:20 p.m. and in the 3,000-meters on Saturday at 6:15 p.m.
Rapp (Toronto, Canada) holds the school record in the weight throw with the top-three tosses in program history. The freshman set his qualifying mark of 70 feet, 10 inches (21.59m) at the Arkansas Qualifier on Feb. 17 as he jumped 12 spots nationally in the event before qualifying 16th. Rapp will begin competition in the weight throw on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be streamed live on ESPN3, beginning March 10 at 5:25 p.m. and March 11 at 3:55 p.m. The championship will re-air on Sunday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
