
Dane Evans and Hayden Carman Get Mini-Camp Invitations to NFL Camps; Lucas Gets Tryout with New York Jets

As of Sunday afternoon, two University of Tulsa football seniors have been invited to NFL mini-camps, including quarterback Dane Evans with the New York Jets and defensive tackle Hayden Carman with the Minnesota Vikings, while receiver Keevan Lucas has received a tryout with the New York Jets.
Evans (6-1, 210) leaves Tulsa as the school's career record-holder for passing yards (11,680), total offense (11,752), TD passes thrown (84), pass completions (904) and pass attempts (1,577). He had 24 career games with multiple TD passes, and 13 games with 3 or more TD passes.

As a senior, Evans completed 259-of-435 passes for 3,348 yards, 32 TDs and a 257.5 average per game.
Carman (6-4, 289), a former walk-on who was put on scholarship prior to the 2014 season, started all 13 games as a senior. He totaled 27 tackles, 4.5 TFLs -15 yards, three pass break-ups, one caused fumble and one fumble recovery in 2016. Carman played in 47 career games and totaled 44 career tackles and seven stops for -21 yards.

Lucas (5-10, 195) played in 41 career games with 34 starts. He completed his career ranked third on the school's all-time receiving list with 3,250 yards, while his 32 career TD receptions tied the school record. Lucas had 11 career 100-yard receiving games. In 2016, Lucas was a first-team American Athletic Conference performer after putting up a team-high 1,180 yards, 15 TDs and a 14.6 average per catch on 81 receptions.

Both Evans and Lucas were part of an NCAA first in the 2016 season when Tulsa had a 3,000-yard passer, two 1,000-yard receivers and two 1,000-yard rushers in the same season.
