The Tulsa men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to UConn on Friday night at the Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn. TU fell to 3-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Huskies moved to 5-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.

"Overall I thought our performance was pretty good," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We possessed the ball pretty well, created a couple of really good chances and defended well. We just have to keep growing and keep getting better. The guys took the game plan and executed it well, and although it is frustrating to lose I can't fault our guys' performance."

UConn's Niko Petridis tallied the lone goal of the contest as he scored on a breakaway down the left side with 52:15 ticked off the clock.

Kay Duit had a team-leading two shots, while five others had one attempt for Tulsa. Marcel Da Silva logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save.

UConn had an 8-7 lead in shots, including a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7 against USF. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
