
Golden Hurricane Earns Nine First-Place Finishes at the Jayhawk Classic

Results
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Tulsa women's track & field team collected six first-place finishes, while the men's team added three first-place finishes at the Jayhawk Classic at the Anschutz Pavilion. Sabrina Monsees led the Golden Hurricane with two first-place finishes, one in the 800-meters and the other as a member of the distance medley relay team.
Monsees took home first place with a time of 2:14.98 in the 800-meters. In the distance medley relay, Monsees, Amanda Heard, Quin Washington, and Abigail Kimball ran a combined time of 12:49.66, as they finished in first.
Aaliyah Birmingham notched a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.54. Candalyn Lyons finished in fourth in the 60-meter dash with a mark of 7.75.
Caitlin Klopfer led the field with a time of 10:05.96 in the 3,000-meters. Ashley Barnes earned a third-place finish with a time of 10:09.81. Alyssa Bolliger finished in fourth as she ran a 10:16.73.
Ca'Purnika Galbert ran a 57.63 in the 400-meters, which earned her the top spot. Allison Bailey recorded a first-place finish in the 1,000-meters with a time of 2:57.68.
Birmingham posted a second-place finish with a time of 24.73 in the 200-meters. Birmingham, Bailey, Lyons, and Kiarra Reed picked up a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay as they ran a combined time of 3:55.77.
Heard placed third in the mile run with a time of 5:17.18. Reed added a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 9.20.
On the men's side, Robert Tully earned the top spot in the 1,000-meters with a time of 2:27.95.
Braydon Rennie finished first in the mile run with a time of 4:19.80. Steven Salvano came in fourth with a time of 4:28.48.
Ben Preisner led the field with a time of 8:16.45 in the 3,000-meters. Adam Roderique finished second as he ran an 8:24.93. Mark Middleton placed fourth with a time of 8:29.39.
Salvano, Reed Sahadevan, August Bont, and Greg Fehribach combined for a time of 10:46.61 in the distance medley relay, good for a second-place finish. Rennie, Luke Moran, Joseph Nemec, and Ellis Coon finished in fourth with a time of 10:59.67.
Henry Visser placed third in the 200-meters with a time of 22.68. Bailey Stewart posted a time of 48.44, as he took third in the 400-meters. Visser, Steward, Tully, and Hans Kunsch added a third place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:20.91.
Tulsa returns to action in Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Classic on Friday, Feb. 9.
