TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa head softball coach John Bargfeldt announced on Thursday that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. Grace Jarvis (Broken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow HS), Abby Jones (Spring, Texas/The Woodlands HS) and Haley Morgan (Durant, Okla./Durant HS) will join the program for the 2020 season.

"Grace, Abby and Haley are all very good students who mix very well with our culture here at Tulsa," Bargfeldt said. "They are all very athletic, exciting players and we're thrilled to be able to sign them. I think that all three, with their athleticism, have a chance to come in and compete for a starting position. With a big senior class this year, there's going to be some open spots next year and it's great to have the athleticism and versatility that Grace, Abby and Haley possess to come in and compete for those spots."

Jarvis is a four-year letterwinner from Broken Arrow High School and she helped lead the Tigers to a 108-34-2 (.757) record during her career. Over her four seasons, she hit .418 with 158 runs scored, 43 doubles, 12 triples, seven homers and 147 RBIs. Jarvis slugged .613 and also stole 58 bases.

As a senior, Jarvis hit .504 with 24 stolen bases, 57 runs scored, 20 doubles, six triples and a pair of homers to go along with 42 RBIs as the Tigers went 30-6-2. Following the season, she was named an all-state selection and the district's Player of the Year. She hit .416 as a junior and was an all-district selection following honorable mention laurels as a freshman and sophomore.

"Grace is a shortstop who has played second and third for Broken Arrow along with her travel team," Bargfeldt said. "She's a player who reminds me of (former TU student-athlete) Shelby Estocado. She's an athletic right-handed hitter who is strong and fast and can play multiple positions in the infield. Grace has a strong arm and runs very well. We're excited to have Grace come to TU and stay in town with us."

Jones is a three-year letterwinner from The Woodlands High School and she has helped the Highlanders to a 76-23 (.768) record entering her senior campaign this spring. In all, she is a three-time Montgomery County First-Team All-District and Montgomery County Academic All-District selection.

She wrapped up her junior year with a .406 batting average, .434 on-base percentage, 25 runs scored, three homers and 27 RBIs in 33 games. Jones hit .355 as a sophomore and .376 as a freshman, when she was the district's Newcomer of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

"Abby is a left-handed hitter and shortstop from the Houston area," Bargfeldt said. "She's an athletic kid with good speed that can play the short game as well as swing away. She's played mostly shortstop, but could play outfield as well as other spots in the infield. We're losing a couple of left-handed hitters that are seniors this year and it's always great to add another lefty bat."

Morgan is a four-year letterwinner from Durant High School and she helped lead the Lady Lions to a 125-31 (.801) record during her career. She aided the Lady Lions to a Class 5A state runner-up finish as a sophomore, while the squad made the quarterfinals round during her freshman and junior year and the semifinals as a senior.

She hit .535 with 236 hits, 44 doubles, 11 triples, 16 homers, 218 runs scored, 153 stolen bases and 112 RBIs during her four seasons. Incredibly, she struck out just 14 times in 539 plate appearances during her career. Morgan was a four-time 5A-4 First-Team All-District selection, three-time District 5A-4 Player of the Year, three-time SE-OK All-Vype Softball Team pick as well as earning OKHSFSCA All-Region and All-State honors.

Morgan hit .536 as senior with nine doubles, a triple, a homer, 35 stolen bases and 22 RBIs without recording a strikeout. She also earned academic all-state honors and was the Wendy's High School Heisman winner for Oklahoma.

In addition to her success on the diamond, Morgan was a four-year letterwinner in track & field and earned two letters with the basketball team. In track, she was a 10-time state qualifier and reached the podium four times, including a third-place finish in the 400m as a sophomore.

"Haley has probably been committed to us the longest," Bargfeldt said. "She's an exciting athlete and is a very fast right-handed hitter with some pop in her bat. Has very good baserunning skills. Her high school team needed her to catch, so she did that. She's got a great head on her shoulders as far as the game of softball and she can move to several other positions on the diamond. We didn't recruit her as a catcher, but we think there are some other positions that she can play for us."
