Tulsa Football’s Chris Paul Named as a TU Top Ten Freshman

TULSA, Okla. –– As part Golden Hurricane Homecoming festivities, The University of Tulsa announces its Top Ten Freshman, from the previous academic year. The announcement came on Friday night at the annual pep rally and bonfire on the TU campus.
 
Among the freshmen receiving the prestigious top-10 award was red-shirt freshman football player Chris Paul (#71).

Paul, a cyber security major from Houston, Texas and Jersey Village High School, impressed the selection committee with an equal balance between athletics, academics and campus involvement. "Chris distinguished himself amongst the other members of his class, has demonstrated academic success, has engaged in a noteworthy way with co-curricular experience and has shown tremendous leadership qualities," according to the committee.
 
Chris holds leadership positions in various organizations like the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Government, and is a part of the Black Men's initiative. He also has participated in community service at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
 
According to his peers, Chris spreads positivity to all those around him and always models respect and care for others.
 
The offensive lineman is in his first season on the field as he redshirted last year. He has played in all eight games and has started four games at right guard, including the last three contests.
