Spotlight on Chris Minter…
#6 Chris Minter Jr. • 6'2" • 247 • Tight End
Chris Minter is a senior tight end from Temple, Texas. Chris has been a vital cog in the blocking scheme for the Tulsa offense. He has caught 10 passes for 79 yards, while four of those receptions have gone for touchdowns. Chris is majoring in organizational studies and expected graduation date is December 2019.
Favorite part of spring football…
Probably all of us being together. It's a new team, obviously. Just working hard as a family and seeing the young guys step up. I love that.
This spring I'm focused on…
Being more reliable in the pass game. Being more of an option for our quarterbacks.
Helping the younger guys to learn…
It's very important. These are the guys coming up behind me, and obviously this is my last year, so helping the new guys is something good I can do for our program.
In high school…
I played just basketball and football. I didn't start playing basketball until the 8th grade.
My role model…
My mother, Tracy King. She is just so hard-working. She always has worked two jobs her whole life. She never gave up. Every day always working. The one thing I always want to do is to be able to give back to her.
Life after college…
Hopefully, I'll be fortunate enough to play in the NFL. I really haven't thought about what I'd do afterwards. I know I'll be successful in whatever field I get into.
Family Feud…
Family Feud is the TV reality show I would want to appear on. My team would consist of Chad President (QB), Diamon Cannon (LB), Chris Ivy (OT) and Javon Thomas (RB).
Favorite NFL team…
Los Angeles Chargers is my favorite team, and it doesn't matter that they moved from San Diego to Los Angeles.
Favorite NFL player…
Running back Marshawn Lynch
Favorite book…
To Kill a Mockingbird. It's just a really good book.
Favorite movie…
The Longest Yard is my favorite movie. It's the newest Longest Yard movie, not the old one.
Not many people know…
I'm ambidextrous. I use both my hands. I can write with both my right and left hand. I don't do it often, but I can. I can shoot the basketball with both hands.
