Sophia Camara and Lucy Coleman will race a Double in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Lightweight National Championship on Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3, at Mercer Lake in Princeton, N.J.
"I am really happy with Sophia and Lucy's progress with this boat," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "They are both outstanding student-athletes who love to row and are focused on representing Tulsa at a high level. It's great to see how excited they are to row with the best collegiate lightweights in the US this weekend. We know we have our work cut out for us, but it should be great racing."
The duo will take on Stanford, Radcliffe and Wisconsin in Heat 2 beginning at 7:10 am Central on Saturday morning. The Repechage is slated for 10:15 am, while the Grand Final is on Sunday at 7:00 am. Teams racing in Heat 1 include Boston, Georgetown, MIT and Princeton.
TU's Double will be racing the Stead, which is named in honor of the late President Emeritus Steadman Upham.
Rowers have to weigh 130 pounds or less to compete in the Lightweight category.
