The Tulsa men's soccer team battled Denver to a 1-1 double-overtime tie on Tuesday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 4-7-1 on the season, while the Pioneers moved to 2-9-3 overall.

"We moved the ball well, we created some really good chances and we showed good patience even though we were down 1-0," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "We had to play a lot of guys tonight and some of them came in and did a really good job.  Overall the performance in the second half was good, but we can't concede the type of goals we've been allowing.  I was proud of the guys for fighting back and battling through overtime."

Harris Partain scored TU's goal, marking his sixth-straight goal for Tulsa in the last four games and ninth this season.

"Harris is finishing a lot of goals, he's getting himself in a good position and he's been tremendous," McIntosh said.  "He works so hard and that is a huge testament to him.  He is dangerous individually, but he works hard, he creates pressure, he has good runs and his finishing level has been extremely high this season. I'm very proud of him."

Preston Judd put Denver on the board with just 3:47 ticked off the clock in the second frame as he went around two defenders and shot from 16 yards out.  The Pioneers held onto that lead until Partain got the equalizer in the 86th minute of a cross from Adam Habib

Neither team found the back of the net through the final four minutes of regulation or the two 10-minute overtime periods to end the game in a tie.

Habib had a team-best five attempts, four of which were on goal, while Partain added three shots, and six others had one attempt.  Bryson Reed logged all 110 minutes in goal and picked up three saves.

Both teams had 14 shots, but TU had an 8-4 edge in shots on goal, while the Pioneers had a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, October 26 at Memphis.  Game time is set for 7:00 pm in Memphis, Tenn.
