The Tulsa women's soccer team fell 3-0 to SMU on Thursday night at the Union 8th Grade Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The Golden Hurricane dropped to 8-9 on the season and 2-5 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Mustangs moved to 10-5-1 overall and 3-4 in the league.

The game was originally slated to be played at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the TU campus, but due to the heavy rain the Tulsa field was unplayable and therefor the game was moved to the Union field.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, but our girls did a good job of adjusting to the venue change and were ready to play," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said.  "We were unfortunate to give up the first goal and to go into the locker room down just 1-0 against the wind so I felt pretty good with what we were doing.  We came out in the second half and were organized, but we didn't create enough chances until it was too late."

Allie Thornton gave the Mustangs a 1-0 lead as she punched in a goal off a free kick taken by Courtney Sebazco at the 26:53 mark.  Wayny Balata made it 2-0 in the 75th minute off an assist from Thornton, and then Balata assisted on Hannah Allred's goal in the 77th minute for the final score.

SMU had a 22-5 lead in shots, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal, and an 8-1 lead in corner kicks.

Mia Darden took three of TU's five shots, while Grayson Schimmels and Reagan Whitlow each had one attempt.  Mica MacKay logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up four saves.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, October 27 against Houston beginning at 1:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
