
Santalla Upsets No. 56 Ambrozy in Singles Consolation Qualifying Draw

TULSA, Okla. - Freshman Ezequiel Santalla upset 56th-ranked Adam Ambrozy on Wednesday, as four members of the Tulsa men's tennis team competed in the singles consolation qualifying draw at the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships.
Trailing 3-0 in the opening set, Santalla would mount his comeback winning four-straight games. He would win the first set 6-4. The freshman would load 4-1 in the second set, but Ambrozy would cut Santalla's lead to one at 4-3 and 5-4, before winning 6-4.
Sophomore Tom Thelwall-Jones would suffer a 6-4, 6-3 defeat to Cleveland State's Matthew Terry. Stefan Hampe fell No. 105 Ryan Seggerman of Princeton 6-0, 6-3. Junior Boriss Kamdem lost straight sets to No. 51 Bojan Jankulovsk 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore Kody Pearson and freshman Juan Pablo Cenoz are set to compete in the singles main draw on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
