Kendrian Elliott, Kayla Moutry and Alexis Gaulden all scored in double figures to lead Tulsa to a 61-55 win over Colorado State on Saturday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.  TU moved to 4-8 on the season, while CSU fell to 6-7 overall.

"It was about getting back here all week, getting in the gym and getting shots up," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said.  "We were a little worried in the second quarter with our shooting (15 percent), but our guys put that behind them and shot 53-percent in the third and 55-percent in the fourth quarter.  It is a good reward for a team that has been doing everything right and everything we asked of them, but the points came through tonight.  I think making that first basket in the first and second halves elevated our confidence and made a huge difference."

Elliott's 19 points mark the 33rd double-digit scoring game of her career and 11th this season, while Kayla Moutry scored a career-high 13 points in the contest, and Gaulden earned her second career double-double with 12 points, and a team-best and career-tying 12 rebounds.

Tulsa shot a solid 43-percent from the field, including 52-percent from three-point range, and was 6-of-10 from the free throw line, while Colorado State was 34-percent from the field, 25-percent from behind the arc and 12-of-16 from the free throw line.

The Golden Hurricane had a 35-33 edge in rebounds, a 17-11 advantage in assists and a 3-0 lead in blocks, while both teams had seven steals.  TU also had a 16-3 lead in points off the bench and an 11-0 advantage in fast break points.

There were six lead changes and one tied score in the first 10 minutes, but Tulsa had an 18-16 lead at the end of the frame.  Elliott led TU with eight points, going 3-of-3 from the field, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc.

The Rams scored on a free throw at the 9:42 mark of the second quarter, making the score 18-17, but neither team added a point until Elliott made two free throws with 4:09 on the clock.  Morgan Brady tallied the first made field goal of the period at the 3:54 mark on a fast-break layup to give the Hurricane a 22-17 lead, and TU went into the locker room with a 24-22 advantage.

After shooting a solid 46-percent in the first quarter, Tulsa shot just 15-percent in the second, while Colorado State shot 50-percent in the first and 20-percent in the second.

The Golden Hurricane climbed to a 10-point advantage, 37-27, at the 3:16 mark of the third quarter, and owned a 46-34 lead with one quarter to play.  With just three seconds on the clock in the frame, Moutry stole the ball on a bad pass by CSU and shot a 35-foot three-pointer at the buzzer for the quarter score.

The Rams battled back in the fourth quarter, pulling to within three (54-51) at the 1:52 mark of the period, but two made layups by Elliott put TU back up by seven (58-51) with 46 seconds remaining in the contest.  It was a free throw battle to close out the game, as Tulsa hit 3-of-6 and Colorado State was 4-of-4, but the Golden Hurricane finished with the 61-55 win.

Colorado State was led by three scorers in double figures, including Tori Williams (15), Makenzie Ellis (12) and Megan Jacobs (11).  Annie Brady pulled down a game-best 15 rebounds in the contest.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, December 29 against UTEP.  Game time is set for 2:00 pm in El Paso, Texas.
