Hurricane Falls to the Wildcats 69-67

Manhattan, Kan. – Tulsa opened the game on a 16-3 run capturing their largest lead of the game; however, Kansas State's 11 three-pointers allowed the Wildcats to take the 69-67 victory. The Hurricane falls to 8-5 on the season, while Kansas State moves to 7-5.
Tulsa shot 43-percent from the floor on 24-56 shooting including 35-percent (7-20) from three. The Hurricane was led by three players who had double-digit scoring, Lawson Korita (12), Jeriah Horne (10) and Darien Jackson (10).
Korita not only led the Hurricane in scoring but also had 6 rebounds which tied the team-high with Elijah Joiner. Joiner finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists.
All 10 players that saw action for the Hurricane scored. Tulsa's bench outscored the Wildcats 24-7 with Jackson leading the way going 4-4 from the field.
Tulsa's held the lead for the first 16:26 of the game before Cartier Diarra hit his fourth three-pointer of the first half. Diarra led the Wildcats with a game-high 25 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 6-11 from behind the arc.
The Hurricane went on a 12-2 run early in the second half to take back the lead from the Wildcats. The run consisted of 9 by Korita and a three-pointer from Horne.
With 2:23 left in the game, Horne was fouled on a three-point shot with the Hurricane down 64-63. After making all three free-throws, Tulsa took its last lead of the game at 66-64.
Kansas State's Xavier Sneed missed the front end of a one and one with 9 seconds left allowing Tulsa a final chance to tie the game. However, Joiner's layup attempt was not successful.
