Baseline to Baseline with Vera Ploner

During the 2018-19 season, TU will feature student-athletes from various sports. Today's feature is Baseline to Baseline with Tulsa women's tennis junior Vera Ploner.
Ploner, a native of Sand in Taufers, Italy, has risen through the lineup since her arrival to Tulsa in 2016. This season for the Golden Hurricane, Ploner played primarily at the No. 3 position, boasting a 10-3 record in the middle of head coach Dean Orford's lineup. She and teammate Martina Okalova possess a lofty 15-4 mark at the top doubles spot, while the duo is currently ranked 14th in the NCAA.
Okalova and Ploner will continue their strong doubles season at the NCAA Doubles Championship next week, May 20-25, at the USTA National Campus, with times and opponents TBA.
