IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa safety Kendarin Ray was named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced today.
Ray, a 6'4" sophomore from Brenham, Texas, led a Tulsa defense that forced three turnovers against the ECU Pirates on Saturday. Ray totaled a team-high 9 tackles, including 7 solos, and had 2 pass breakups in Tulsa's 34-30 comeback victory.
Ray's selection is the sixth time that Tulsa has earned an AAC weekly award this year. Linebacker Zaven Collins earned Defensive Player of the Week twice and punter Lachlan Wilson was the Special Teams Player of the Week once. Collins and quarterback Zach Smith, like Ray, have earned weekly honor roll mention.
Tulsa (3-1, 3-0 AAC) travels to play at Navy (3-4, 3-2 AAC) this Saturday with kickoff at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
