Tulsa Football No. 25 in CFP Ranking

TULSA, Okla. –– In the first College Football Playoff Rankings released on Tuesday night, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane is ranked No. 25.

It's the first CFP ranking for Tulsa since the rankings began in 2014. Tulsa had previously been ranked in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) rankings in two seasons. The CFP system replaced the BCS system in the 2014 campaign.

Tulsa first moved into the BCS standings, which began in 1998, with a No. 25 ranking on Oct. 15, 2006. Tulsa was ranked for three weeks in 2008 in the BCS standings, including its debut at 19^th (Oct. 19), then 18^th (Oct. 26) and 25^th (Nov. 9).

The Top-4 teams in the first CFP rankings are: (1) Alabama, (2) Notre Dame, (3) Clemson, (4) Ohio State.

Tulsa is currently also ranked No. 24 in the Associated Press poll and 25^th in the USA Today Amway Coaches poll.

Tulsa's American Athletic Conference matchup this week against Houston has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases at the University of Houston and the ensuing contact tracing of student-athletes.
