Spotlight on Senior Dylan Couch
#73 Dylan Couch • 6-3 • 299 • Senior • Offensive Guard

What I like most about football…
It's simple. My teammates and coaches.

What was behind my decision to transfer to Tulsa…
I went to Kansas State to start my career. When I decided to leave Kansas State, I had a lot of different offers. I could have gone to a lot of different schools. But it came down to being near my family.

The favorite thing about my hometown of Pryor, Oklahoma…
The golf course – Pryor Creek Golf Course.

My Hobbies…
I enjoy golfing. I play the piano and participate in different community service projects back home, like helping at the soup kitchen and passing out food at church.

One of your hobbies is playing the piano…
I began playing the piano at age 13. My mom made me start playing the piano. I don't get a chance to play much now, mainly just in the off-season. When I'm around a piano, I'll try to bust out some music that I know. I don't play as much as I used to, but any chance I get to play I try to.

Why I wear number 73…
Actually, my number was 75. That's the number that means the most to me, but someone already had it when I first got here, so I just wore No. 73 because it was the closest number to 75 that was available when I first got here. No. 75 had always been my number growing up from elementary school football until I got here. No. 73 is cool, but I'd rather have No. 75. (Dante Bivens wears 75). I never tried to get it from him because I know that number means a lot to him too, so I didn't want to put him in that position.

My favorite NFL team…
Right now, I really don't have a favorite NFL team. When I was growing up it was the Indianapolis Colts because of Peyton Manning.

Twitter isn't for me…
I got rid of my twitter and Instagram accounts 2-3 years ago. I just spent too much time on those accounts. Social media is not for me. I have facebook and snapchat, but that's it.

My most memorable moment at Tulsa…
My first start against Memphis in 2018 and being around guys like Tyler Bowling, Chandler Miller and Willie Wright.

One of two seniors on the offensive line…
Tiller (Bucktrot) and I kind of play off each other. We try to help the young guys out as much as we can. I know when I was their age, I had seniors at Kansas State who helped me be the player I am today. I just kind of want to pay that forward. There's no one I'd rather be a fellow senior with is Tiller.

Soccer just as favorite a sport to watch for me as football…
Soccer is one of my more favorite sports to watch. I like watching soccer just as much as I like to watch football. It's an interesting sport. There are so many moving parts to it –– so many different leagues and so many different levels of competition. I think it's a cool sport.

Sports role model in sports…
Dalton Reisner, who played at Kansas State, has been a pretty big role model to me. He plays for the Broncos now. There's another dude, Reed Najvar, coach Najvar's little brother, who I also played with at Kansas State who was a role model.
