Tulsa Men Fall to No. 6 TCU 4-1

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane took a 1-0 lead and made a strong push to defeat the nation's 6^th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs before falling 4-1 on Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Hurricane captured the doubles point with the first win at the No. 3 spot as Ezequiel Santalla and Daniel Siddall captured a 6-1 victory. TCU evened the doubles match with a 6-1 win at the No. 2 position.

Tulsa's 29^th-ranked doubles tandem of Kody Pearson and Connor Di Marco sealed the doubles point for the Hurricane by upsetting the 24^th-ranked team of Tadeus Paroulek and Sander Jong by a 6-4 score,

Three of TCU's ranked singles players garnered wins on way to its 4-1 team victory. Tulsa's 67^th-ranked Pearson put up a strong match against the nation's 21^st-ranked Alstar Gray before falling 6-4, 6-4. At the third slot, TCU's #123-ranked Sander Jong defeated Stefan Hampe 6-2, 6-3.

Tulsa's Juan Pablo Cenoz took TCU's 105^th-ranked Tadeas Paroulek to three sets at the No. 5 position, winning the first set 6-3 before falling 6-4 and 6-4.

Tulsa will be back in action for two home matches on Friday, Jan. 29, as the Hurricane hosts Illinois State in an 11 a.m. match and ends the day with a 6 p.m. match against Mississippi.
