Tulsa Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams to Participate in The American Media Day on Thursday

Men picked to finish seventh in conference preseason poll; Women predicted ninth

IRVING, Texas. –– The University of Tulsa men's and women's basketball teams will participate in the second session of the American Athletic Conference Media Day on Thursday, Oct. 14, in the digital event.
Men's Head Coach Frank Haith, as well as senior guard Darien Jackson, and women's Head Coach Angie Nelp and senior guard Rebecca Lescay will go live at 12:05 p.m. The event will stream on ESPN+ for all fans who want to watch.
College basketball announcers Kris Budden, Mike O'Donnell and Brooke Weisbrod are hosting the event from The American's state-of-the-art studio in Irving, Texas. The American's Morgan Uber will provide additional coverage and analysis.
Jackson is The American's reigning Sixth Man of the Year. He played in all 23 of Tulsa's games last season, averaging 7.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 25 minutes per game.
Lescay started all 19 games for the Hurricane a year ago and was third on the team in scoring, averaging 7.9 points per game. She also led the team in blocks (8), steals (38) and was second on the team in field goal percentage (.383).
The Tulsa men were picked to finish seventh in The American Preseason Coaches' Poll. Houston was selected to win the conference, while Memphis received some first placed votes and was predicted to finish second. The rest of the order is SMU, Wichita State, UCF, Cincinnati, Tulsa, Temple, South Florida, Tulane and East Carolina.
