IRVING, Texas –– Tulsa's Anthony Watkins was named to the American Athletic Conference's Honor Roll this week for his performance last Friday night against Navy.

The 5'11" sophomore running back and kick return specialist from Fort Worth, Texas, had two big runs covering over 70 yards for the Hurricane, including one from scrimmage and one kickoff return.

Watkins' 78-yard run from scrimmage in the first quarter set-up a 26-yard field goal that gave the Hurricane a 3-0 lead. He put Tulsa ahead 10-3 when he took the second-half kickoff 97 yards for a score. It was the longest KOR for a touchdown since the 2012 season and the 11th longest in school history (four 100-yard returns, six 98-yard returns).

He ended the game with 178 all-purpose yards on six touches for a 29.7 average per touch.

Tulsa travels to take on the nation's No. 2-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday in a 2:30 p.m. (CT) matchup on ESPN2.
