
Bryson Powers Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa senior defensive back Bryson Powers was named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® VII football team, it was announced. He is now eligible for Academic All-America accolades.
Powers, a 6'0" senior from Spring, Texas, finished his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering in May 2021 with a 3.72 grade point average. He is currently working on his master's degree in business.
A nickel safety, Powers has 36 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and one pass breakup in 10 games this season. He has totaled 138 career tackles, six forced fumbles, six pass breakups and three fumble recoveries in 43 career games played.
On the academic side, he has earned American Athletic Conference academic all-conference honors each season. For his senior project, he and his group designed a nano brewery that could brew 2 ½ gallons.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the links above, and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
