Joiner Named to AAC Honor Roll for the Second Time

TULSA, Okla. – Senior Elijah Joiner, for the second time this season, was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, leading the Hurricane to a win against the Temple Owls, 72-66, in the Reynolds Center, it was announced today.
 
The Hurricane point guard was one of four Tulsa players in double-figures Wednesday, when TU took on the Owls on the home court.

Joiner scored a season-high 17 point and dished out three assists in the victory. He shot 4-8 (50%) from the field and 8-9 (89%) at the free throw line.
 
Tulsa ended its' three-game slide with the victory against the owls, as Joiner was vital in the second half scoring 9 of his 17 points in the final period.
 
This is the second time this season Joiner has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. Joiner's honor is the 8th AAC honor for the Hurricane this season. Brandon Rachal was named AAC Player of the Week on Jan. 4 after leading TU to wins against then No. 5 Houston and Cincinnati.
 
Tulsa will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at home in the Reynolds Center against the Cincinnati Bearcats on ESPNU.
