Tulsa Rolls to Historic 90-56 Win at Tulane

2/25/2026 10:43:00 PM | Men's Basketball

NEW ORLEANS — In a season already filled with historic moments for Tulsa, the team added another one on Wednesday in a 90-56 win over Tulane at Devlin Fieldhouse. It was the program's fourth-largest road win ever and the team matched the program record for 80-point games in a season with its 21st such game, matching the 1983-84 team. The Golden Hurricane have won 23 games for the first time since 2014-15 and won seven road games for the first time since that season as well.

David Green led the scoring for the Golden Hurricane with 19 points, converting 3-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc. Tylen Riley contributed significantly with 15 points while dishing out eight assists and making two steals. Ade Popoola added 16 points, hitting three 3-pointers in the effort. Tyler Behrend was effective defensively, recording four steals and two blocks while also grabbing eight rebounds.

Tulsa started strong with a layup by Green, who also assisted on two subsequent scoring plays. Curtis Williams Jr. kept the Green Wave in contention early with a layup and a jumper. However, Tulsa's offense widened the gap significantly through effective scoring in the paint, concluding the half with a 45-29 lead. Riley contributed significantly with multiple assists and a fast-break layup, while Romad Dean capped the half with a three-pointer just before the buzzer.

In the second half, Tulsa dominated, extending its lead with a series of 3-pointers and solid defensive plays. Popoola opened the half with a three-pointer just 13 seconds in, setting the tone for their shooting performance. Green and Popoola each contributed significantly from beyond the arc, with Green hitting multiple threes, including one at the 8:21 mark, pushing the score to 72-41. The Golden Hurricane maintained control throughout, with efficient ball movement resulting in assists from Jaylen Lawal and Riley. Despite efforts from the Green Wave's Rowan Brumbaugh and Tyler Ringgold, Tulsa's strong offensive showing led to a decisive 90-56 victory.

Tulsa has just two games remaining in the regular season. They are off this weekend before traveling to East Carolina next Wednesday for the final road game of the season.
