2/22/2021 3:57:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The Tulsa women's soccer season will finally begin on Wednesday, February 24 against Memphis beginning at 6:00 pm at the Track and Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn.
The match was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 21, but had to be postponed due to inclement weather.
The Golden Hurricane returns 16 letterwinners from last season, including six starters, and welcomes 12 newcomers to the roster. TU looks to bounce back after an 8-11 overall record and a 2-7 mark in American Athletic Conference play last season. TU returns no starters from the front line, but sophomore Aubrey Lechlider is Tulsa's top returning scorer as she had four goals a year ago.
Memphis, which was picked to finish first in the conference by the league's head coaches, started the season with a 3-0 non-conference win over UAB. Lisa Pechersky, Grace Stordy and Tanya Boychuk all tallied goals against the Blazers, while Elizabeth Moberg logged all 90 minutes in goal, picked up one save and earned the shutout.
Memphis owns a 10-2-3 lead in the all-time series with the Golden Hurricane, including a 3-0 win to close out the regular season a year ago.
