Game Notes

SENIORS BACK IN 2021
•  The Hurricane return 4 seniors for the 2021 season ... super-seniors Kassidy Scott and Alexis Perry return after receiving an extra year of eligibility due to the season being haulted early in 2020 and are joined by outfielders Kyndal Pirtle and Sarah Briers.
•  In 2020, Perry led the Hurricane in hits with 21, runs batted in with 15, total bases with 34 and batting average with a .318 clip ... the third baseman appeared in 24 games with 23 starts.
•  Scott led the team with two saves in 2020, which places her third in TU history with 7 career saves … in 2020, the senior went 2-5 in 13 appearances throwing 25 strikeouts.. 
•  Briers transitioned from the infield to the outfield in 2020 starting all 20 of the games she appeared in ... she had a .241 batting average and a .414 slugging percentage in 58 at bats. 
•  In her first season as a Hurricane, Pirtle appeared in 21 games with 6 starts ... she was fourth on the team in runs with 7 and led the team in stolen bases with 5 on 5 attempts. 

NEW FACES FOR TU
•  Tulsa brings in four newcomers to create depth for the Hurricane ... TU welcomes infielders Imani Edwards (Tomball HS-Texas) and Rylee Keith (Seminole State-Okla.) as well as outfielder Kennedy Cramer (Pryor HS-Okla.) and pitcher Kylee Nash (Three Rivers HS-Mich.).
•  Keith joins the Hurricane after spending a season at Seminole State ... prior to Seminole State she spent a season at Louisiana where she red-shirted her freshman season.  
•  Cramer was named the District Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and earned District Player of the Year honors as a senior ... had a career .424 batting average, a .489 on base percentage, 127 RBI, 158 runs scored, 198 hits, 13 home runs, 46 stolen bases and a career 1.000 fielding percentage as she recorded no errors.
•  Edwards notched a .495 batting average and a .995 field percentage during her junior season ... she was named first-team all-district as a sophomore and junior and picked up all-state accolades last season ... senior season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
•  Nash was a two-time all-district and all-conference honoree and picked up all-region and all-state accolades her sophomore season ... she helped her team post a 61-15 mark as a freshman and sophomore, but missed her junior season due to injury and senior season due to Covid.

STACKED PITCHING ROTATION
• The Golden Hurricane returns four strong pitchers to the circle this season led by Chenise Delce and Samantha Pochop.
• Delce had a  team-leading 6 wins in 2020  ... in a game against Samford, Delce struck out a season-high 10 batters ... opposing batters hit only .193 against the sophomore.
• Pochop finished the season ranked 6th in the nation in earned run average with a .087 clip ... she led the team with 64 strikouts and opposing hitters had a .170 batting average against her.
• TU returns senior Kassidy Scott (2-5) and freshman Sara Llamas-Howell (1-1) as well.
